I've been watching, and thanks for posting those! Btw your issues with control of the fleet could be clarified if you click on the "OB" tab and you'll see how your fleet is organized. Couple of points: 1. Think of 'Core' as a conga line. Only one division can be 'core' for another. If you try to set two divs on core to the same lead division, you'll get an error (that you click away without reading), and one of the divisions will revert to independent with no lead. That's when they wander off. 2. On the OB tab, you'll see that some ships will be in different forces. e.g., your BC's or CA's may be in a separate 'scouting force' with some supporting ships. You can't have divisions from one force be leaders for another force's divisions. 3. If you go to the preferences buttons, there's a selection to 'set all divisions except lead to AI control at start' or something like that. So you don't have to click thru and do that manually at the start of every battle.

Ahhh i always thought it was strange when i set one division to be a core as well as another! i always assumed i was just loosing my marbles :'). Wish i had seen this post before recording another 3 episodes now >.> and thanks for watching any comments or thoughts are greatly appreciated as feedback only helps me improve !

One more tip: If you want to bring a wayward division back towards another, "support" is the best. However, you have to use screen for CA's- they can't be given 'support' orders. Also ships have a greater tendency to get confused and lose their place in formation when you have 'turn together' checked and/or line abreast.
OK one more- your shooting accuracy is better when you're downwind of the target. Funnel smoke/fires isn't just for looks- it will degrade/block line of sight. You can see gun aiming and penetration info on the ship data screen, for deciding engagement ranges, and what kind of aiming penalties you have.

I had no idea that was part of the game, where do you find this background information?

The data screen you get when you right click on a ship. There's some 'details' and 'data' buttons for a bunch of different parameters on that screen. Check it out.
