As sort of expected, here's a link to the official Matrix/Slitherine anouncement for RTW 3. I suppose this is a good thing and I hope that it works out well for NWS even if I have my doubts, I hope I'm wrong. I guess most of our comments and wishes/suggestions can be placed there too. They also say they are recruiting play testers. Link: www.matrixgames.com/news/rule-the-waves-3-announced

For what it's worth, I think Matrix is an excellent shop for small, indie game designers. They've done some excellent work over the years with AGEOD and many others.

Will this forum continue to exist or will it migrate to Matrix games?

Congratulations... Matrix is pretty great, I've been buying from them for 15+ years. I look forward to the new version, and whatever future projects you guys take on.

I feel better now that it looks as if the Matrix Games, and NOT the Slitherine division of the company is involved with this. It also appears that Erik Rutins himself might be helping (hope so!), so I'm setting my concerns aside. This appears to be a good deal all around.

Yes, we do work with Erik quite a bit - he's a solid guy and has been extraordinarily helpful to us.

Won't be the first Matrix game I lose 100s of hours in (War in the Pacific - AE... so many campaigns...)

It's clear that Erik is the guy who really pitches in and helps. Look what he's doing with Distant Worlds 2, for example, which had a very rocky release. In any case, it's clear that he is the heart and soul of Matrix.

Let me start by saying I have purchased and greatly enjoyed SAI, RtW and RtW2. However, I am saddened to hear that RtW3 will involve Matrix/Slitherine. I have not been impressed by their business practices and no longer do business with them. So RtW3 will regrettably be a hard pass for me if the only way to get it is through that company. It's sad, really, but there you are. Be careful who you hitch your wagon to.

It should be also on Steam once it releases, so that should fortunately alleviate any issues you have with Matrix, assuming that your issue with them is related to their storefront and not the games themselves.

I've had ok experiences with Matrix and Slitherine, but hopefully the publisher or devs can also consider moving it to GoG as well, since nowadays I sometimes hold off on new slitherine releases since they sometimes show up in complete form in GoG.
Also from the Matrix screenshots seems China/ROC is inbuilt as a country, this makes me very happy.
