I'm testing, this shouldn't matter. ...But.
France has Libya, and I beat them in a war already by avoiding Fleet actions. If Germany keeps the Home Fleet "home", I might only be facing France again. & my (cares too much) people speak German, we share a language and culture.
However, ... my relations with England are Perfect, my first dread-naughts are still a year away, and my relations with France are not so bad that I couldn't remain at peace.
Machiavelli and Admiral Pragmatism would tell me to sit this one out I think. ... *stares longingly at the Suez Canal...* but its a tough call!

Well Ironically I chose the option no-one voted for, as England's ally. The war was won, I fought a single action with no losses and "gaining minor concessions" turned into 12 points, so I took all I could (German Africa) and built my economy by 5 points.

I didn't see this till this morning, unfortunately. Had I voted, I would probably have picked staying neutral, so would not have influenced your decision at all. Two questions, one of which is completely off topic.
Have you had any luck with large, expensive Bs with the "hail of fire" concept like those 17,000 ton, 12x9". I tried that once but had no decisive battles with with them and then chickened out on followup games, reverting to 4x12" and as many 6" secondaries as I could fit.
How could you even influence your vote option of entering the war on Britain's side? I am guessing game decision two, invoking that clause. I would have picked whichever of the first two options suited me more after hovering the mouse over them (the way I usually answer game decision questions), but I am not familiar with this question, so don't know which option would tick Germany off enough to break their alliance with me.
I realize taking time off to answer questions can delay getting out a new version that corrects a lot of the issues you are facing right now, but whatever advice you can give would be greatly appreciated

Depending on the era, you may find 8" guns (which start 1890 as Q-1) work better than 9" guns (which start 1890 at Q-2).
Don't know about others, but I've found them successful enough to be a part of my fleet.

I, as Spain, was in my grand war with the United States. I had a 10" ship in a Nassau layout, intended to be the next-generation BB but instead got classified as a CA. Fast forward to 1930, and the Spanish Navy has to fight this ginormous, 12 x 16" armed behemoth with up to 16 inches of armor. And then, this super-dreadnought caught my 10" ships without... the accompanying battleship line! And, well, they got badly damaged, but they also slowed down the American battleship enough so that my actual battleship line could deal with it. Honestly, it was a shock seeing them actually hit, but yes this concept can definitely do damage. And lots of it back in the actual pre-dreadnought era

I generally always find more guns are better, at least until 1935/40 when the armor sacrifice you had to make to get more guns runs up against 16"+ fleets. My basic pre-dread is an A/R/Y -2 gun of 9" or more, ideally with 2 extra knots so I can bulge them at first opportunity, though I wait until I "learn" the torpedo lesson in-game; it bugs me to be too 'meta', as illogical as that is.How could you even influence your vote option of entering the war on Britain's side? Well it was basically a choice of honor the alliance with Germany and face a tough war where I may or may not prosper as a navy, or honor the alliance with France and avoid making England my enemy, and have a quite easy war that would allow me to build up my navy even more. I'm actually very sorry its taken me so long to reply, I've had a very challenging week and my attention was elsewhere. But I'm back to work this weekend.

Oh, I didn't know that you were allied with Britain via France. I voted for the 1st option (I think) because I understood the situation as you're Austria allied with Germany who is fighting against France and Great Britain. As such, your obligated to aid your cultural brethren in their time of need...even if it meant facing Great Britain. Ideally, you'd have been able to leverage your location in the Adriatic and lure enemy ships into range of your coastal artillery, eventually forcing a compromised peace at best. Otherwise, I'd have either voted to side with France and NOT **** off the British or voted to stay neutral and not break off the alliance between the two sides, assuming if such a thing is possible.
