I've just updated to the latest version 1.00.37
Where are all the ships' files for each game? like the 11D, 12D etc? Can we still access them with the notepad as before?

File structure reworked to replace many many files that Steam updates choked on for a few.
Thus ships were pulled into collective files.
Individual notepad editing not likely a thing now.
>>>
Directory
[User] > Documents > My Games > Rule the Wave 3
apparently forced to C: drive which is an issue for me as Im from the era of C: = small SSD boot drives and D: = large conventional data drives

See such a shame as spent hundreds of hours on RTW2...

I haven't tried anything newer than .27 yet myself because I don't want to bork my AAR game file

Yep. I'm still at 27 myself because the game just felt better than the later versions

One other issue is they disabled the ability to advance one turn by hitting the space bar.
I mean... with all the issues carried over from the original series... why this?

One other issue is they disabled the ability to advance one turn by hitting the space bar. I mean... with all the issues carried over from the original series... why this? Too many complaints when you spam the space bar and end up 'ok'ing your ships to enter port or something. Though the new Beta, if memory serves, makes possible to revert to space. I'll happily stick with alt though - and keep my ships in the fight!

If there is a way to opt out of disabling the space bar, I haven't seen it. If you know how, please let me know - my habits have been formed by years of playing RtWx and it frustrates me.
If they were going to fix a user interface problem, might I suggest taking on the course change box on the main screen? If you open the squadron window you can type in a new course. Try that on the main screen and you go forward a turn or several until you can get control again.
Forcing the game data files (the save games) to the C: drive no matter where the game files are stored is very short-sighted and should be reworked, stat.

What's New in Version 1.00.39: • Reversed the "CA cannot have protected cruiser armour configuration" change. Important Note: The earlier change to early CA in 1.00.37 proved to be ill considered. As some players have correctly pointed out, the main difference between pre-1900 in game CA and CL should be size, not armor configuration. Early cruisers have now been refurbished in the game and CA are now cruisers that have an armored belt or have a size over 8000 tons, others are CL. Templates and design logic have been updated accordingly. France and Russia have been given belt and sloping armor deck as bonus techs to reflect their early adoption of armored cruisers. This might cause transient issues in already started games with 1.00.37, in which case we advise continuing to play until this resolves itself or starting new game. The end result is that the treatment of pre-1900 cruisers is now much more historical and consistent. • Added an option to have spacebar both pause and run the game.• Added weather forecast to pre battle screen. Note that this is unreliable, just as the real weather forecast. It will improve with tech and time. • Prevented some cheesy tricks in officer assignment, for example assigning bad officers to empty divisions. • Added possibility to manually change aircraft type of an air unit. • Added save path info on main screen. • Fixed a bug where the default settings were not used if the preferences file was not found. • Fixed a bug that could set the year of ship designs to 1899 in an 1890 start. • Fixed a bug where a Lieutenant commander could be promoted directly to Admiral in some cases. • Fixed a bug with the free manual promotion per turn not resetting after the turn. I guess in the settings menu? Attachments:
