I don't remember when it starts (end of December maybe?), I'm not at home right now.
You get like 10 OPs per turn to save mainly, because subs are the only thing you can send out.

Turn 18
It was time to make a show of force before the onset of winter. One battleship and three armored cruisers were sent to the western Baltic to show the flag. We sunk a transport as a bonus and chased a German light cruiser off.
Our reports indicate that the Germans were worried enough to emergency activate a task force. This would have been interesting had we run into them. The fact that they sent the Beowulf out to sea shows me that the Germans are scraping the bottom of the barrel. In the Russian navy a ship like the Beowulf would serve as the Tsar's yacht.

Turn 11-15 saw no activity on either side. Turn 16 and 17 saw the German fleet out in full force. I received word that the Germans were running an operation but only had enough coal to send out three Armored Cruisers and escorts on Turn 16. When I bumped into the Germans, this is what I saw. Attachment DeletedNeedless to say I ran back to port. Turn 17 was the same thing except I didn't even bother sending out any ships. I simply don't have enough operation points at the moment to contest the Baltic.

Turn 10No activity. Time to take stock of the situation. Here's the status of the campaign so far. Not too bad, I think. Attachment Deleted

In a miraculous turn of events the Finn evaded all further German gunfire as darkness fell. It was as if the Tsar himself guided German shells to an empty sea. The Finn was able to rejoin her sqaudron as the Rurik made steam to cover the retreat. A light rain, so common this time of year, further cloaked our ships. There was much rejoicing in Helsingfors as the Finn entered the harbor. Attachment Deleted

The flotilla attack was unsuccessful but it bought time for the light cruisers to make their escape. The same could not be said for the Finn as it took another hit. Losing steam the Finn gallantly lead the Germans away from our task force. Attachment Deleted

Turn 9 - The Agony and Ecstasy of the Destroyer FinnThe ground war shows no signs of ending so the Admiralty has decided economic warfare to be a main priority and to that end another raid on German shipping is in the works. We've gotten word from our British allies that even now Germany is starting to feel the pinch of the blockade although disturbing news has reached us about raiders that roam the Pacific. It remains to be seen if we can trust our western allies. A CL division escorted by a DD division will seek and destroy German shipping. All went well as we sank a German transport laden with war material but on the return home our task force ran into 2 modern CL's and 4 destroyers. The DD Finn took a hit and began to drop out of formation. We ordered a flotilla attack to drive off the Germans. Attachment Deleted

Thank you for a great game! These AAR's are time consuming but it's enjoyable. I'm snowed in right now so I can run some turns.

Turn 8Devoted mostly to training. Three Divisions left in reserve for targets of opportunity. No tasks assigned to us this week. Despite the fact that there was no activity by either side this turn, there are still risks. Attachment Deleted

Turn 7After the great propaganda victory last week it's decided to beef up our minefields in the western Baltic. One DD division is given the task while a CA and DD division is held in reserve. Our shipping took a big hit this week. It seems the Germans are not going to cede the Baltic this easily. Attachment Deleted

The Germans did not even try to oppose our armada. We swept the seas north of the Gulf of Danzig bagging some smaller vessels and destroying ground batteries. This was tonic for the troops and shows how far the Russian navy has come back since 1905. End of Turn 6. Attachment Deleted

Turn 6It's been decided to sortie with our battleship force. 2 Destroyer Divisions, a Light Cruiser Division, the entire Battleship Brigade and the Rurik, serving as flagship, are to turn the Baltic into the Tsars bathtub. Failing any contact, a bombardment target has been selected. News of Tannenberg has the workers organizing and threatening strikes for what they see as incompetent leadership and battle must be taken to the enemy. It is always the navy that has to pull the chestnuts out of the fire! Attachment Deleted

Turn 5With the poor gunnery performance of the Rurik she along with most of the fleet was put into training this week. More ominous was the debacle of our ground troops at Tannenberg and as a result the Tsar is pushing for a decisive naval engagement in order to boost morale. I've convinced him to give me one more week of training and instead send out two light cruisers on a raiding mission to disrupt German trade. One destroyer division and one old armored cruiser division will be held in reserve to cover any trouble. No risks are to be taken. Attachment DeletedSuccess! No real drama on this turn. Just as it should be. End of turn 5.
