Oh that would be so much overpowered... In case you want to give them historical fleets, I think you want something that this game is NOT about. Yes, it will be op, if you want it to be so. Or you may give AI stronger ships than itwould build otherwise. And you may also create semi-historic navy, with a mix of old and new constructions, why not.

It could be overpowered, sure--but it would be whatever you wanted it to be.
I will be interested to see, when we choose the advanced (1920? 1925?) start, what the AI's legacy-fleet aircraft carriers look like.

How will getting new aircraft designs work?

Could factors like "rapid economic growth" (if still in RtW2) be customisable in terms to effect? The current game allows the player to reduce technological progression to support a longer game, but this does not change the rate of economic growth, so US and AH grow excessively.

One thought just occurred to me; not sure if it has already been stated, any possibility of being able to actually pursue and retain an alliance? Like a button to "urge the PM to go into talks with Germany" or something, if you are scared of them, or have a particular plan, obviously it would only work with lowest tensions, may take money out of your budget to cover expenses and cost say 5 prestige. Alliances shouldn't be just 5 year timers but rather a persistent state that only changes back when you do something that raises tensions; like military exercises in their home waters or not giving them land you promised them in a war, or if you are too weak relative to them and they betray you, etc, so that nations which historically get "memed" a lot like Austro Hungary actually stand a decent chance by teaming up with another nation to become a credible threat.
As long as you intervene to help your ally when they ask, don't abandon them in war, don't take any land you promise them at the start of war and don't do anything shady it should be possible to have an alliance from the first turn to the last, but it should equally be true for all enemy nations, no magically respawning navies and flim flam foreign policy for you France...

Will be in RTW2 some possibility to have choose for historical ships (as in RTW) all most efficient ships that AI will build.
As players have knowledge of past they use much more efficient design than AI which builds their ship based on historical ships and especially for battleships and battlecruisers after end of pre-dreadnought era AI does not build ships that can withstand combat 1:1 with players ship at all mainly due to not adequate armor protection.

Glad for the update, feel compelled to admit I'd been checking in every day or two of late to see if there was an update. Got myself a ritzy new gaming laptop a few months ago and the thing I'm looking forward to most is the very system forgiving RtW. Seems like development is steaming along quite well.

A minor and not really necessary request - could Rule the Waves 2 save ship design files with the year appended to the class name, as is the case with refit designs? I.e. if I create a South Carolina-class battleship in 1906, could the game save the design file as South Carolina (1906) rather than just South Carolina?

A pie-in-the-sky feature I'd like to see later on in RTW2 is the ability to generate SAI operational campaigns for one or more sea zones from a war in RTW2. Of course, this couldn’t be a release feature of RTW2 because SAI would likely need to be brought up to speed as far as carriers, etc. I too would like to play SAI campaigns with carriers and naval aviation and also scenarios based on the 2WW, as in TAS. In the case of the campaigns I would have a suggestion to make. In SAI and RJW campaigns, if a ship is damaged, she must undergo all necessary repairs. After some time the ship reappears as if she were brand new. In the reality of war it happened that a damaged ship had undergone partial repairs in shortened times. An example for all is the case of the USS Yorktown before the Battle of Midway.
