Sorry for double posting, but I have a "request". I would love it if the game had historical land borders.

Sorry for double posting, but I have a "request". I would love it if the game had historical land borders. As I understand it the reason this is difficult for the devs is that they don't have the resources to make their own world map file, so they source (purchase?) one from someone else. This map understandably has our modern borders instead of more historically accurate ones.

Quick question as only just found RTW2 and as a player of supremacy at sea in the past I’m very interested in the premise and will definitely be purchasing.
Couple of quick question and apologies if covered already as haven’t managed to go through every thread . I’m trying to write an alt-just and wanted to use RtW2 as a game engine
1) my alt hist has Netherlands as key player but I think that if underestand correctly the Dutch are not ‘playable’ despite the NEI bring a playable area - so no ABDA ?
2) if I wanted to game France vs Britain can I do that ? I’m currently reading castex’s strategic theory book and was wondering if I can game his ideas about the second tier navies

reading the RTW1 forum there is a lot of custom nation discussion - is this a feature of RTW 2 ?
cant wait to get hands on RTW - do you have an aspirational general release date ?

Two questions, will be possible to have other nations in RTW2? Maybe Spain, Argentina, the Netherlands...
and two, will be possible to LOCK the alliances? so for example you can always have Uk as an ally or at least never as an enemy?

RTW2 will have custom nations, just like RTW1.
Why would you want to lock an alliance?

Woot, Washington Treaty option in place - great work Fredrik On alliances, I agree they shouldn't be locked hard in place (how would it handle post-war WW1 - when would they be locked and when would they be free to change? And as Fredrik well says, WW2 alliances were anything but stable - Italy, for example, started on one side and finished on the other). My 2 cents (and I'm not suggesting this needs or should be done, or that it's a good idea, just the best idea I have would be to have some kind of 'historical friends' option (if one wanted to reflect the British/US shared cultural heritage, strong economic links and lack of strong, clashing national interests) that made it more difficult (but not impossible) for war between the US and UK (iirc, Britain's tacit support of the US during the US-Spanish war in the very late 19th century meant they started the 20th in a relatively strong position). Could even be fun setting other 'historical friends' for alt-history games? On the other hand, could be a silly idea.

So for the Treaty of Versailles, do you think it would just apply to Germany or to any loser of a war in the WWI timeframe in RTW2?

Could I just confirm the time-frame for RTW2? Is it 1925-50, or 1900-1950?

Could I just confirm the time-frame for RTW2? Is it 1925-50, or 1900-1950? Both actually, you have the choice to start the game at 1900 or 1926 (or roughly there, I forget the exact second start year) and the game runs till 1950. [Edit - That's based on comments made by the developers in the RTW1 forum. I tried a quick search to find the exact comment but came up empty. I apologize for not being able to tell you for sure what the second start date is but there will be two depending on whether or not you want to play through the original RTW1 time period as well.]

Could I just confirm the time-frame for RTW2? Is it 1925-50, or 1900-1950? The time frame covered by RTW2 is 1900 through 1950. You can choose to start a new game in either the year 1900 or 1920.
