While the building slip limitation thing is interesting in theory, practically I wonder if it would be worth Fredrik's effort. Even playing the US on very large fleets, I find that trying to build 4 large BB's at once is enough of a stretch budget-wise that even if there were more slips available, I wouldn't have the money to fill them up anyway.

Yeah, as the economics of the game stand right now, it wouldn't really matter. Plus it just widens the gap between the US/UK and the other nations regarding construction capacity. RTW1 from a philosophical standpoint takes steps to try to limit the gap between the large and small nations so the smaller nations are still viable to play in the game.

Agree. It would likely add unnecessary complication to the game. Just wanted to throw it out there for review.

...but refusing to refrain from the use of pejoratives after having been asked to stop by someone who finds it offensive is simply rude - especially when you knew that the word in question is generally considered to be a pejorative prior to being asked to stop using it instead of being unaware of the word's derogatory nature prior to being asked.
<snip> So, two things here. 1st, when will it stop, the progression of political correctness? When men get their panties in a bunch, and everyone starts bending over backwards to accommodate their squeamishness, they push for more PC... until our way of life and entire culture has been assimilated by their beliefs. Screw that! 2nd, 'Generally', you say, Jap is offensive, when in actuality, only in a particular context to a few individuals is it so. Let me ask you, do we stop chicken and beef commercials on TV because Vegetarians are offended by it? Of course not! Stop being ridiculous.

Yeah, this. Is it even worth bothering? This is probably the biggest issue... Even if we had the slips, do you have the money, and then who would it hurt/reward the most...

Sigh. Thread locked. If you wish to continue this subject, minus all the issues, try with another thread. But fair warning, it wont just be a thread being locked if this keeps occurring.
