Hey guys, I was just wondering if any of you would be interested in starting another play-by-council game after RTW2 releases, to celebrate the occasion - and hopefully get a bit further with it this time. If so, my thoughts on the matter are:
Either another game as the UK, or a game as the USA on Very Large fleet, in order to give the widest possible scope for the game, with lots of important strategic theatres, lots of ship designs, and lots of strategic issues to discuss and debate.
Either a 1900 or a 1920 start could be interesting - I'm open to either one.
If we were to do a 1900 start, perhaps no manual build of legacy fleet. I've taken to playing with a computer generated legacy fleet lately as I find it more interesting to have to work with a less-than ideal start, with ships of varying quality that represent technological progression up to that point, rather than a homogeneous and ideal legacy fleet that all becomes obsolete at the same time. However, I also think this will be beneficial as it would allow us to get straight into the game rather than spending so much time on the setup.
Let me know if you're down for it, and if so I'll set up the forum.

I'll edit playing RtW2 movies and upload in niconico. I want to get publicity of this game in Japan.

Can you please describe the logistics in a little more detail? Does the "council" meet on TS/Discord or is it purely forum-based?

Interesting, thank you. As a variation on this format, have you considered assembling the council in real time, on a voice call (or even parallel calls for different boards) with PC screen shared to discuss the particulars with a visual reference in front of them? It could help make the game more engaging and faster paced.

I like the idea and we might give it a shot, but I think setting up the game as forum - based will be the more practical option, and should be implemented before we try anything else. It's difficult enough to get large groups of people together for a call at the best of times, even if they aren't all on different continents, as I presume we all are. I, for instance, live in Australia.

What, now you're telling me there are countries outside of America? I see your point. I can only assume this is a massive undertaking - good luck!

I found RTW too late to be part of this last time, but I’d love to try it with RTW2.
I found the game that had the forum players as ship design companies very interesting as well.
