With RTW2 and Imperator Rome both coming out on 25 Apr, I'm thinking about taking the 26th off of work (just not telling my coworkers why). Anyone else doing the same?

Personally i'm waiting to see if Imperator : Rome is just 40% of a game, with the remaining 60% portioned into $20 DLC over the next 6 years. Seems to be their montra, and i'm not interested in waiting out another early access product from Paradox masquerading as a finished title.
Sorry for the rant. lol
I'll definitely be playing hooky from grad school on the 26th, I MUST secure American Carrier Supremacy.

Late April/early May is when I have my midterm exams,so I decided to actually start studying for them on time this year, so I can take a stress free day off from Uni to establish Japanese naval dominance over the Pacific. And as for work, I work night shifts, so I plan on placing my order when I go to sleep in the morning and waking up in the afternoon to download and play the game.Hehe.

RTW2 is my main motivation for taking off work. Wish I could still skip class...

Worked a coworker's shift yesterday in exchange for him covering me the 25th. Another coworker agreed to cover the 26th if I buy him lunch and I'm working on getting someone for the 27th. After that my 3-day weekend starts, so we'd be looking at 6 solid days to play RtW2 before setting up a forum playthrough on another board.

That's impressive.

They justify by selling under the $60 price point. The real question is not whether this is going to be the case (I'd bet my firstborn on it) but rather how worthwhile the game feels at the aforementioned 40%. This is dependent on Paradox's design decisions, so the jury is still out for me.

Work winds down for winter at the end of the month, I'll have plenty of time on my hands. Will probably need to find some more part time work at some point to augment what will probably be a meagre two shifts a fortnight but the timing fits to within a week.

I do not expect much from I:R. After all, it is follow-up to probably the worst of Pdox grand strategies, at least IMHO. I tried demo when it was first released, and bought it on sale when info on I:R was released - on both occasions I found it just pure rubbish. This may be because I was studying ancient warfare on university level and couldn't stand the simplifications...
On the other hand, I do expect a lot from RTW . And I expect to get it just in time for the weekend 27-28 and then we have free days 1-3 May here in Poland, so I'll have a lot of time

Indeed, I played Centurion way back, played Rome 1, and now 2 TW, and learning Fields of Glory II, so sign me up for the era - but IR is just, somehow... doesn't click I guess.

At the risk of being OT I recommend 'Ala Jacta Est' from Ageod for anyone looking for a decent Ancients game - the scope is set around specific conflicts (ie Ceasar vs Pompey or the Second Punic wars) but the level of detail is just right.

I would love to, but I cant take a day off from my current advanced training. I am writing exams from the commercial chamber. Those are not easy, unfortunately. But I will play it! (It wouldn't be the first time I would have taken a day off for a game. I mean, why not? That's what they are there for.)

As for me... Good fact: I have weekend at 26-27, and then nearly week of holidays approaches from 1 May. Sad fact: at my work long holidays are most busy time... Another good fact: I have computer at my workplace!
