As a person in my mid sixties I find the fonts very hard to read. I spend too much time on my computer and I really don't want to wear my glasses whilst playing computer games. I currently play many war games with a preference to games like CMANO, Panzer Corps, TOAW 4 as well Railway type games and don't use my glasses for these games. The Screen Res I use is 1920 x 1080, but I have experimented with other resolutions as such as 1600 x1024 with the RTW2 demo with little improvement. I'm not a hundred percent sure whether it's the white background, or the font type, or size. I think I will struggle to play extended hours with RTW2, as much as I liked playing the original game I stop playing it for the same reason.

Having a muted background color and/or different fonts is something that would be a good thing to have (I personally suffer from poor vision as well) - after RTW2 is out and updated/stable we can see if Fredrik can do anything in this area to help. Thanks.

Thanks for the reply, I have been advocating for a background or font change or both for a while, it would be good to see it happen sooner rather than later

Thanks for the reply, I have been advocating for a background or font change or both for a while, it would be good to see it happen sooner rather than later We are aware of your request and see its usefulness, it is just that so much else needs to be done, and we have to prioritize things. As William says, once we have the time we will look into this, but it is not top of the list. FWIW I use reading glasses all the time playing computer games or programming them (the latter taking far more of my time as it happens).

a possible temporary solution is to go into win10 settings/system/display, choose which display you are using to play RtW (if you are using multiple), scroll down to 'scale and layout', and select 125% or even 150% to see if that helps
it's a pain if you have to do it every time before you play and switch it back after you are done, but it does help make the text bigger. i play on a 46" TV about 7 feet in front of me and have it always scaled at 125% - i'd prefer 150% to make the text easiest to read but the ship design screen is too big to fit on the screen at that scale for my TV's 1920x1080 resolution

Isnt there a Setting in Win10 for high contrast (it is made for Color blind People) u might want to give it a try, not sure if it effects the game though
