Just this morning my anti-virus software came up with the following alert. It ended up deleting the exe file for the Demo. Is this a false positive, I assume? Anyone else have any issues with their virus protection software on this?

It came up in the bug thread. Apparently something like 65 of 69 anti-virus programs (correctly) don't light up for RTW2. Four do. VIPRE, (which I use), Avast, I think, and two others. We're just lucky, I guess.

The anti-tamper shell for the demo is flagged as malware by some anti-virus programs.
Edit: should have refreshed before posting

The demo is fine, its a false positive - some anti-viruses consider anything with anti-tamper protection as 'suspicious' and flag it. Once we hit a final release for all this I'll submit samples to the few that flag it and hopefully they will un-blacklist them.
You can set an exclusion for a folder or file being flagged with some AV software, don't know about WebRoot, never used it.

Bitdefender flagged it as well. I submitted it as a false positive.

I use Webroot, so you might want to send one to them. However, I did figure out how to make an exception to allow it, so all is well once again. Major crisis averted. LOL

Some AV tools keep a global DB of programs they've seen before. New programs sometimes confuse them until they have enough reports of it, so if this is the problem it'll pass as an install base develops.

Lets be honest, nobody needs Anti-Virus.
Not clicking on ads and going to sketchy websites does the trick. Going on 5 years of this machine, never had an anti-virus and the only issue i've had is adware that came from a piece of 3rd party software I intentionally downloaded.
Anti-Viruses actually cause more harm to your machine constantly running and performing frivolous checks, while never really being good enough to detect a Virus worth it's weight.
The best Anti-Virus is simply being aware of what you're clicking on and being Internet savvy.

Open up the interface for Webroot, click on the little gear icon next to "PC Security" in the upper right and then click on the tab that says "block/allow files".
