It's 1912 I just got into a war with Russia as CSA, and as far as I know, no nation has developed air power yet, including me. I generally assign DDs to trade protection. However, I am wondering if assigning a few CAs or CLs to trade protection might be a good idea or not, if they were to end up engaging enemy raiders or something. I would like some advice on this. Should I send some cruisers on trade protection or should I max out on DDs so I can get a higher ASW rating?

If you see you are getting raided by CL's or CA's then put cruisers (either same or higher) on TP. Else KE or DD will suffice. (KE at 1200 tons, MS gear, and 5" guns comes in at 2500 for 20kts, throw on Colonial for a few more if you need overseas presence)
