So I'm about half way through my first major invasion battle. I've lost a lot of my BCs, but I think I've done more damage to the Russians, but can't be sure thanks to FoW. The mission objective is to "Reach objective with at least 4 TR." My convoy has sailed directly past the objective, past the port, and continues to steam North at 12 knots. Is this normal behavior? gyazo.com/bf242f9fabb629ff2023c5409299a683

They should normally head for the objective, but if they are "spooked" by enemy ships they will try to avoid them and make a detour. Sooner or later they will head back to the objective when they think the coast is clear.

I completed that mission, and the transports sailed North past the objective (We started to the South) uncontested for 350 nautical miles to my next nearest port, despite being heavily escorted and at one point less than ten miles from the objective marker. The delay cost me another battlecruiser which sank escorting the convoy on its lazy voyage. I have to admit this is the one time I have save-scummed in this game.

I've had something similar happen with invasion convoys. When I was invading the Sakhalin island as Japan, my transports just straight up went to the right side of the southernmost peninsula and got stuck there. The objective they were supposed to reach was on the left side of it. They could not reach it because there was a land mass between them and the objective. I ended the mission with a failure of any transports to reach the objective. Still ended up invading it because I managed to sink a large portion of the deployed Russian navy and victory counts for something apparently, but the AI pathfinding is very frustrating.
To be fair though, this is by far not the worst thing the AI has done to me. It's pretty mild.

^This happened exactly in my Russia game while I got invaded by Japan. Some transport was able to make it by hugging the coast only to be sunk by my defending fleet, with the most other fleet stuck on the other side of the landmass snailing towards the objective.

I had a similar, yet slightly different issue: Had an invasion mission playing as Germany invading France, yet there was no objective marker. Clicking on the "Show Location" button of the objective also did nothing. My TRs sailed to a port south of Normandy and then got "stuck" in a bay (kept sailing in circles, forgot the name of the port) until the mission ended because there were no enemies nearby.
Was really weird.
