Hello, it seems that I somewhat struggle with those new aicraft operations. For example I have set my CAP to maximum (because why not, I have more CVs than any other nation and each one has more planes that the enemy´s), but my fleet (especially my BBs) are permanently under air attack, which often ends with hits. So I wonder, where are my fighters? Also when I want to do and airstrike at the enemy fleet, I command my planes to get ready for strike for a certain position on map, but when I want to launch them, the game always says that this is close enough for a heavy load, and if I want to rearm the planes. Can I just click "yes" to bring bigger bombs into action immediately, or do I have to wait to rearm them? It seems that the planes take off immediately, but that may be other planes, so Im not sure. If I have to wait, is there any option to load the heaviest bombs first? Also is there any option for automatic air patrol over my BB/BC squadron if my CVs are present? Is there any option to bring land-based aircrafts to the action? In my last playthrough those bases were pretty much pasive, or just bombed enemy bases. But I think that enemy ships should be a priority. Enemy can fix a bombed airfield, but can not fix a sunken ship.

Hi, you can check the RTW 2 manual for starter, but I get that they aren't perfectly clear on some stuff. I'll try to answer your questions from my experience but I could be wrong with some behind the scene mechanics:
For Carriers to send CAP to your BB fleet, they need to be set to "Support" and as a division following that squadron you want to escort, otherwise all their cap will be defending the carrier squadron. (They will try to stay out of surface action so don't worry too much) Also, in even when set to "Support" they will still keep about half of their CAP with themselves, so if you want to be defensive, its prob better to set CAP intensity to max.
If your plane are already "readied", changing their load takes more time. If they are "unready" it doesn't matter since the plane are not armed anyways. If u want to load heaviest load first, in the strike interface you can change the load of the plane before ordering them to "ready". As a side tip, if u aren't sure of the enemy's exact location, making the plane carry a lighter load means they get a bit more time trying to look for the enemy, so that may help.
Land based air can be giving order at the start of the scenario, tho they are not very reliable. If they cant find a ship with their search, its not uncommon to see them just go after landbase. If u want them to be more proactive, build more and try to get more coverage.
