This is a nice ship those French guys built in 1903. I mean, no one really know what is a 14in gun, not even French manufacturers, but thats not an obstacle of AI. I´ve doublechecked the ship design file, it´s really a 14in gun.
At least the ship does not have dual purpose tertiary guns like the AI ships had in my last playthrough from the very beginning of the century...
I´ve added a whole save folder for anyone who would like to triple check everything...

Did you check the research screen? If I remember right France starts with 13" guns so developing quality -1 14" is a possibility.

It's a bug. Happened in Rule the Waves occasionally, too, and if it works the same way then this is probably actually advantageous for you - Suffren has a Q9 main battery, and to the best of my recollection Q9 main batteries don't shoot. Neither France nor any of the other powers has 14" guns in the attached save, and the design file for Suffren indicates that the main battery's gun quality is 9 - the quality the game uses for gun calibers that aren't available.

Yeah, so that is the thing I didnt notice before, thanks. Anyway, does that mean that when France does not know 14in guns, they put there dummy guns instead?
