We thought we all knew the story of Pearl Harbor, Japan attacked the US battleship fleet in Pearl to stamper the USA and make decisive gains to where hopefully a peace settlement could be worked out. I thought the same as I even went to see the Arizona's wreck myself once, but Today while I was storing away ARMY INTEL 9906753, plans for the Maximum Battleship IV-2 cleverly devised by the late naval genus Senator Tillman, I saw a box labeled "Real Arizona Specs." Inside my fellow admirals will rock you to the core. The once humble Pennsylvania-class battleship with it's 4X3 14 inch guns with about 30,000 tonnes of displacement was in actuality a monstrous 90,000 ton design with 4X2 *20 Inch* main armament. I know not how the wreck in Pearl today seems so much smaller, but the reason for Japan's gambit became clear as this could challenge the Yamatos. I share with you now the once classified specs of the United States's most massive Battleship Arizona.10d (8.21 KB)

I know not how the wreck in Pearl today seems so much smaller Oh come on, that's an easy answer! It obviously shrank after so much time exposed to the warm waters of Hawaii.

Considering how much those things cost to build, If I was the owner of the shipyard I'd also be VERY into building you another one XD
(consult with quality control though...shrinkage is highly inconvenient, so you should be well informed on which water temperatures it occurs XD)

Lower the belt to 14", give her 6,5" (maybe 7") deck and this thing is competitive for gunfights. Against planes it will suffer like anything else in the 1940s.

Oh yes, I'm under no illusion that it's not built in a time where it's quite limited near large land masses or CVs, even if I did max out it's deck space for AA guns. (Lord knows I've had many a poor cursier pounded out when the sun rose) Though at least at this point of the game I'm swimming in as many ship as I could possibly ever need, outnumbering the AI in everything aside from Subs so it was a case of "why not?," and I suspect if you limit Air plane development in the playthrough (maybe with varied tech with a touch of luck) it could be much more effective. As for my choice in the armor. I find I end up particularly close to the enemy at the start of combat, so I wanted to focus on the belt. Though at you suggestion, here's what the difference turns out to be in the immunity zone (least to it's own guns)

I would have just made it magazine box and up the armour to 20 inch belt and 7 inch deck

A way to use bigger shells than 20": just build a trebuchet on such a 90.000 tons BB and throw old 500 ts DDs at your enemy...
