Is there an end date to a campaign?

Is there any actual end date, with an accompanying "you did x well in y amount of time?" I saw that the game is described as being between 1900-1950, but I'm in 1951 and didn't get any pop ups. Any answer would be appreciated.

1955. You get to gaze admiringly at your map and your fleet an your trophies in January 1956.
