When did you start the game - 1900 or 1920? 1900 What nation were you playing? Japan Were there any start options that were not the default? No Version 1.02 Fairly commonly, when I am fighting a battle near the coast, my AI-controlled CV groups will run right up against the coast and get stuck in any inlet or bay they find (see attached screenshot). Once they get stuck up there they can't seem to find their way out and can barely maneuver to launch planes. In a different battle, my AV group charged into a bay after the enemy after I'd pulled my main force out. Maybe it's trying to get 'behind' that squadron based on which way it is going rather than direction to the enemy? All of my wars in this game have been Japan vs Russia, with lots of coastal fighting, so the pathfinding has been wonky a lot. This is costly and annoying enough that I'd call it a bug. Maybe as a suggestion, support forces could be ordered to operate in a direction from the flag either absolute or relative? So you'd want your DD screen to always be at 12:00 relative bearing, but your CV force to always be south of the flag. Attachments:

Yes, this sometimes happens. Especially with carriers that dont have catapults. They seem to struggle with trying to turn into the wind and launch their fighters, but there's no ocean to traverse, just a rocky cliffside, but they don't care and try anyway.
Be nice to have a little bit more awareness of the shoreline so the carriers stay away from it. Personally, I hope carriers just stay away from the shoreline... like they avoid torpedoes or aerial attack. Can't launch fighters cuz the wind is blowing from the coastline and you've already hit one sandbar? Well too bad. Thats a feature!

Repeated in a version 1.03 game. If the emeny BB had found these carriers they would have had no chance to launch planes.
