Arguably a suggestion, but due to impact on play and lack of realism putting in bugs:
When did you start the game - 1900 or 1920?
1900
What nation were you playing?
UK
Were there any start options that were not the default?
Manual legacy, admiral (in first battle), large
Describe the issue in detail.
I was trying to manually launch a 1-ship recon flight. First time I tried I forgot to click the box and so it silently failed to launch - I noticed this after successfully launching another recon flight. I then went back to the strike dialog, clicked the box, hit the launch strike button, and discovered to my horror that my entire squadron was headed off on a strike to the recon location (the click apparently put the mission back to naval strike). I immediately hit the "stand down" button, and was told that I couldn't cancel because the squadron isn't ready. The same thing happened to me yesterday with an alpha strike - I'd just sighted an enemy CV TG in visual range of my BBs, and accidentally hit the "launch strike" button without changing the strike location. When I hit cancel it refused to cancel the unready squadrons, and so the strike went 150 miles to the wrong location.
What were you doing when the bug occurred?
1) Attempting to "undo" a "launch strike" button click I had just made with unready squadrons by using the "stand down" button.
2) Attempting to launch a strike at new location.
What did you expect to happen and how was the result you saw different than you expected.
1a) If I just clicked the button, it should take the squadron back to the previous state (ready or unready)
1b) If time has already advanced, "stand down" should still abort the strike and put into "striking below" mode (or possibly into "ready" for squadrons that are spotting). This should probably take a prorated amount of time based on how far through the readying/spotting process the squadron is.
2) The system should probably clear the strike location field every time the strike dialog is opened. It's way too easy to accidentally launch a strike at the previous target.
Can you describe how to reproduce the bug?
1) With unready squadrons, launch a strike then immediately push "stand down".
2) Pick a location in the strike dialog, close it, then open it again. The location is still there.
What version of the game were you playing (v1.00, v1.01, etc)?
v1.02
