There is something strange with machinery calculation (see screenshot).
20 knots as base, difference by 1 knot
21 knots - 647 tons more weight of ship
22 knots - 790 tons more weight of ship
23 knots - 533 tons more weight of ship 24 knots - 892 tons more weight of ship
Increase between 22 knots to 23 knots is quite strange as weights much less than any increase over 20 knots by 1 knot. Ship design is saved as TEST.

if a ship goes under 21 knots armor is LIGHTER than it is if the ship goes faster than 20 knots its a wierd bug and i cant wrap my head around it another dude i know is investigating expect a report on it soon

Armour should be lighter for slower ships as it does not need to protect so large machinery.

I think hes saying that looking at your screens, the 21 knot design has more free space than the 20 knot one. Probably a weird datapoint in the speed/hp tables.
EDIT:My bad, I was totally looking at those wrong. Ignore this.

currently the armor is bugged in several ways
for example the belt armor of a 27 knot speed with 10 inch belt at 13700 tons is about 50% heavier than it is on a 18000 ton ship
ships below 21 knots in speed have lighter armor than ships above 20 knot speed
yes armor weight increases with more machinery but in that area there is a substancial increase compared to going from 21 to 22
yet 21 to 22 adds more machinery weight
