After reading through the armourweight thread i decided to do some calculations and excel based on the armourweight and i noticed a strange dip in armourweight starting from 13700,from about 120% of 8000 ton value to 111% at 18000 that is the decrease in armour weight when comparing ship at 13700ish and 18000 tons. When you would make a ship at 20kn's or below the armourweight would first go up by about 0.7% at 8000 slowing down to 0% at 13700 and then starts to go down in from 0% to -0.5% until it starts to go up at 18000 tons with 0.5% per tick.
The armours affected by this are Belt, Belt Extended, Deck, Deck Extended and Conning tower. This small dip in armourweight at all speeds between 13700 and 18000 but when you go over 20kn the calculations for beltarmourweight especially seems to break since instead of mirroring this dip like it probably should it instead leads to big reductions of about 30-50% between 13700 and 18000.
All the data has been gathered from Rule The Waves 2 1.03 version
Now this looks normalish but when we get into 21 knots this happends.
When we get to 22 knots the reduction gets even more severe
This trend continues to speeds over this, here is a picture of 27 knots
I have the data logged in for the beltarmour in a google sheet that i made with the help of my friend M4ht
The datasheet for beltarmourweight and other armours
Here is the data that i logged and used for making thease graphs. thease are reproduceable ingame at 1920 start with the british but anything over 20kn is affected by this at any point of the game so this makes heavy cruisers and small BC much less viable since if you go from 13700 to 18000 tons you can cut the armourweight by 50% at about 10 inches of armour thickness.
I will be logging the rest of the numbers into that sheet at a later date but this is the most noticeable problem. I did check Rule The Waves 1 and this same ''bug'' exists there aswell for ships at the same displacement so it seems its been on the game for a longer period of time. But it went unnoticed by me before i started doing the numbers and look for the data.
Feel free to comment and look at the data yourselfs.
