Game info:
v 1.03 (run as Admin under Win 7 x64) 1920 start (w/ 1.01), USA, Very Large fleet, Historical Washington Treaty Description:My first carrier battle in 1.03 surprised me with my DBs being selected for auto search (a good surprise, because it's more historical and more preferable for me tactically and due to tech specs of DBs). As per manual, the expected search plane priority for me (w/o "floatplane priority" enabled) should be: TB DB F FS. My carriers are configured as following: 13 F 13 F 18 DB 18 DB 14 TB Now, I'm playing a medium battle on CONUS West Coast, and the planes for recon were selected as... fighters. Here's the setting that was used for the routine air ops: Problem:Until there's an option to specifically select designated search planes, there needs to be at least some sort of consistency in the way the planes are selected. It can lead to great tactical problems otherwise. Sending a big portion of your fighters for search instead of CAP could even be catastrophic in some cases. I'm yet to file a suggestions thread (still exploring the game and documenting my thoughts), but while we're at it, I wanted to voice a thought here out of order. If "Floatplane priority" is considered to be "the Japanese way", then shouldn't the opposite be "the American way" - i.e the use of dive bombers by default? And not TBs? Anyway, some consistency would be nice. And DB search by default as "the USN way" would be extra nice as well Save from the battle (after the search planes were sent):drive.google.com/file/d/1YSfGnf-M4tCyJb998UGBs5fVxgt27pGQ/view?usp=sharing
