holy crap, thanks for the tip! it's not 100% optimal and is something that will have to be tweaked over time, but i designed a theme that does a ~decent job of simulating 'dark mode' for RtW2. i had to pick specific hues of text colours so text can be seen in both dark and light backgrounds
i attached the theme at the bottom of this post
issues include:
- it's a little hard to see the ship overview screen
- foreign station tonnage, monthly balance, and funds
- on the ship design screen total tonnage and weight remaining is hard to see
- when you hover your mouse on a map seazone it's a bit hard to see the very light grey text in the light grey box (can't take pic)
- and viewing info in battles is not optimal
but it's a start if this is something you really want for RtW2, and of course you can tweak to your hearts content in win10 settings/high contrast
you can also click on colour filters just above high contrast, turn it on, and pick a colour blindness filter - it screws with the colours but might make reading some things easier
EDIT: re uploaded theme 10 min later, made it a tiny bit easier to read on the light screens
EDIT2: the theme doesn't react well with a lot of (firefox) websites so might have to turn off high contrast when not playing RtW, making it a pain - but it's still an option if you really want a dark mode
