There is long thread on the forum about effectiveness of the different ships for raiding. However how is it with raider protection and raider hunting? - Who hunts the hunter? That is, what ships have the best chance to encounter the raider? Active fleet in the territory or other raiders? Is it class specific?
- Do ships on Trade protection duty have any effect on raiders?
- Do have air bases equipped with long range aircraft increase protection against raiders?
- Does it help the intercept chance, to have CV/CVL/AV in the territory?
And similar question related to ASW - Do have CVL or AV on Trade protection duty any influence on anti submarine warfare?

In no particular order: - ships with at least one floatplane have a bonus as a raider (perhaps as an interceptor too) - Speed of interceptor is believed to affect if a tactical battle is generated. Speed certainly affects whether the interceptor can make a kill. - A lack of ships on TP leads AFAIK to a prestige loss and an increase to ships lost to raiders. That be calculated and shown on the each turn summary screen. - ASW affect appears to involve the total across ships. Not known to me if this is the total of your fleet and/or adjusted to local ASW value. It is my own custom to deploy TP and minesweepers across each sea zone I have bases for anyway. - For an interceptor unknown to me if the floatplane would affect the chance of tactical battle. It would certainly influence the tactical battle once started, if its daytime, by the ability to actually find the raider effeciently - For extended discussion on floatplanes and raiders there is many posts about it in this thread: nws-online.proboards.com/thread/2568/using-float-planes

manual page 17
Ships equipped with scout aircraft will be more effective as raiders. They will also be more effective at hunting raiders.
