NavalArt <link deleted by moderator>
I bought this game on Steam a while ago and played around with it. It's fun building a ship and then seeing how well/badly it performs. Just a heads up. I figured people here might be interested in it. If this contravenes some rule then feel free to delete this thread.

warspite We don't normally allow direct links to potential competitor products on the forums, sorry. I have cut the link and replaced it with the name of the game.

As I said I only posted it because it seemed like it might be in the wheelhouse (pun intended) of those who frequent this forum.

It is a port of a mobile game. And the text in game is so poorly translated it makes me wonder about the quality of the game itself. The developer (maybe more than one?) appears to be a Mandarin Chinese speaker who runs everything through Google Translate. I would not say it's a direct competitor at all. From what little I saw it looks closer to the very good and very silly Besiege just a lot less polished.

This is a private forum and they are free to set the rules. It is a Chinese game although it seems to be heavily influenced by Japanese naval architecture. The game itself has an English translation and is perfectly playable in English. I view it as a fun distraction. 'Beer and pretzels', if you like, even though I dislike that wargaming phrase.

having played it a little, I’d say the building options are limited since you are stuck with historical weaponries. The system seems rather limited in terms of depth as well.
To me at best it’s just a way to build your own ship and play world of warship like battles. The build system also feels rather clumsy, but it just might be coming from “From the Depths” and not used to it.
I’d keep an eye on it, but as is it doesn’t impress me that much.

It looks like a more grounded but also more shallow FtD knockoff.
So I'll stick to the latter for free-form ship design, and to RtW for historical accuracy.
