A few questions for anybody who can answer them:
The manual states that warships outside of home areas may be used for fleet duties when assigned to trade protection. Does this only apply in the player's home area, or also in the enemy's? What exactly is a home area - for example, what about the North American West Coast for the USA, or the Mediterranean for France? Are TP ships less likely to be assigned to normal fleet actions than AF ships, even on foreign stations?

Left click on any flag opens window where you have information if it is home area.

Another question for anybody who is so inclined: can destroyers which are equipped with ASW equipment engage enemy submarines in battles?

Another question for anybody who is so inclined: can destroyers which are equipped with ASW equipment engage enemy submarines in battles? I did witness one instance where my destroyer casually sunk a submarine in battle, I got a log message of that. I think the screenshot got demolished by the entirety of my HDD though. :\ I also have no idea if the ASW rating got any influence on this occurence.

I've had DDs sink SSes in battle, though it was resolved as a popup and not fighting like ships do.
