Is there a way to hide these on the map? Sometimes I get so many duplicate reports displayed that I can't find the ships hiding in them. Couldn't find anything in the preferences.
It would be nice if they faded away after a few hours or when a duplicate report comes in. They do tend to simulate the fog of war though, so there is that.

I brought this up a couple months ago, and given the issue didn't make it to the top of the "to do" list I don't think resolving it would be easy. That being said, I would love it if someone knew how to make contact reports after "X" length of time disappear.

Maybe there is a simple way to change the display color to red or something, that would help a lot.
On second thought yellow would be better, with about 30% transparency.

That being said, I would love it if someone knew how to make contact reports after "X" length of time disappear. Delete them after time elapsed. (it is worst solution but if I have dozens of reports I do not care about them, it is mess and would take a lot of time to go through it It is not possible in human mind to do it. So as any important report is shown I remember 2-3 locations and that it is so having older reports is almost useless for me).
Or better having it as filter. It could be in the tab or general settings/preferences.
So game will only show reports younger than x hours.
Another solution probably better could be that system has only last 5 reports, better 3-5 reports of CV/BB/BC and 3-5 last reports of any other type. Another feature getting it better could be that you can check/uncheck report not to be deleted after some time.

on the left side of the battle screen there is a tab call reports - when a sighting report is added it stays there the whole battle
you can double click on any of them and it will highlight that sighting report and draw a blue line in real time as to where that sighting might be at present according to the reported sighting course
it doesn't get rid of the clutter, but you can click on the latest report and highlight it to keep track of it until you get a newer report
