I'm not sure whether this belongs in bugs or suggestions. I seem to recall that battle locations are by design determined by nation pairings, but for nations that do not normally have bases in a region, this can lead to some odd battle locations that were fine in RTW1, but very problematic in RTW2 with land based air being a factor.
When did you start the game - 1900 or 1920? 1900
What nation were you playing? USA
Were there any start options that were not the default? Very large fleets, manual legacy fleet
Describe the issue in detail. In a war against the UK, with American bases in Northern Europe being in Norway, Finland, and East Prussia, I'm only getting battle offers for Northern Europe in the Irish Sea and western English Channel, far from my airfields and close to Britain's, where accepting battle is probably suicidal. I'm sure this is meant to represent the usual case where the US does not have bases in Europe, and any American fleets operating in European waters would be coming from the west, but it does not reflect the situation in my game.
What were you doing when the bug occurred? Fighting a war with Great Britain.
What did you expect to happen and how was the result you saw different than you expected. I expected to get battle offers in the North Sea where the enemy fleet has to deal with air attack from Stavenger and Bergen to match my threat of air attack from bases in the British Isles. Instead I get battle offers for locations where my fleet would have to sail through the channel or around Great Britain to the north and then down through the Irish Sea to reach the battle site, not to mention getting back.
