The short version: "Stand down" for readied torpedo planes appears to consume their torpedoes. I readied a strike of 19 TB out of a squadron of 20, then stood them down; when I went to re-ready them I only had 21 torpedoes available instead of 40.
What I expected: "Stand down" should return ordnance (torpedoes) to the magazine, rather than consuming it.
The long version:
Don't have a save file or screen shot for the below: sorry. I noticed it at the time but didn't think in terms of logging a bug.
The situation:
Started big fleet battle; ~6CV in 3 divisions with carrier force and 5CVL i 2 divisions with main force. Readied full-deck strikes (including TB) on the CV. After they were readied, I realized that it was almost night and so wouldn't have time to launch strike. Didn't push the "stand down" button at nightfall though.
About 3-4 hours before dawn, started organizing a new strike to hit enemy at dawn (I'd kept contact overnight with radar). I realized that the planes from the evening before were still sitting there readied. I wanted to e.g. include the scouts from the day before, so I gave everything a "stand down" order so I could re-ready new strikes. When I went to re-ready, the previous strikes torpedoes had been consumed: squadrons of 20 TB had torpedo availabilities of e.g. 21, 24, etc. for squadrons that had had 19, 16, etc. planes readied. I'm going into fine detail because I thought I'd done similar things before and had thought the torpedoes were recovered.
