Greetings,
Playing my first game or RtW2, 1900 start as France, medium fleet size, at Rear-Admiral level.
Having y first naval battle against Austria-Hungary. It is a convoy defence. I have command of a CA division and a CL division (each division comprising one cruiser). Other French assets, a DD division and three divisions of transports, are underindependant command.
When I right-click my divisions flag I get a large dialog box to give orders. However both speed and bearing are grayed out. Whatever I do in the dialog box I can't change speed or bearing.

You don't set speed and course in the menu that comes up when you right-click the division flag, you set them using the controls in the lower left corner of the screen, marked here:

At start of any mission it could be greyed out for some time to simulate battle scenario.

Thanks Aeson for your quick reply. In following your suggestion I found speed and course also grayed out in the lower left of my screen as per this screen shot:
Thanks Dom for your reply. After 26 minutes of game time my CA division came under my control. (The CL division has since sailed out of sight and out of my control.)
