Rule 5.5.6.3 states that some submarines have "swim-out" launch of torpedoes that do not get the passive sonar modification for launching torpedoes. I cannot find any submarine data sheet that says the sub has this ability. Can you please let me know how this is recorded on the data sheet or which submarines this applies to?
Thanks.

georges That rule was put in for possible future updates, as no sub/torp combination was able to use a swim-out launch mode until circa 1995-97 or so - starting in ~1995 a few Improved Los Angeles class SSN with Mk48 ADCAP torps were modified with the ability to do this, for example, although it was not a fleet-wide capability until much later.
Most modern electric torps also have this ability, but of course that is far outside the games timeframe.

OK great. Thanks a lot. So it could be used in scenarios set around 2000, but of course many other rules will need to be updated.
