21 02:01 16 in 9468 yds Critical hit *! Two adjacent turrets damaged!
There are variations of these. Sometimes they are not critical hits, but two turrets are damaged or destroyed. I read in another thread (can't find it) where people complain of it happening with regularity. I don't recall it ever happening often, but I get this every large battle sometimes two or three times. I'm wondering if these are WAI?
Funny thing is, I'm not complaining about this particular one... It happened at the very outset of a convoy raid where my Battlecruiser had just run into 2 other enemy BC's and their opening salvo had one hit that destroyed both my front turrets. lol. Looks like I'm going to run for a while and see what my rear turret can do. I know **** happens, and that's fine, it adds to the enjoyment of the game, but I do see this a lot and I think maybe it's too frequent.
Edit: So I turned to run, BAM! Critical hit to the bridge, lol. Next one disabled my electric power. They tore my ship a new one, lol. Got away to fight another day thanks to some destroyers. 3 critical hits in 5 salvoes. That makes for good storytelling.

Sometimes bad luck happened.
I remember several actions with luck. In one of my fights 2 my superior CLs vs. 2 CLs. It should be easy fight however enemy make about the first 9 hits from 10 disabling or destroying almost all my turrets in one CL and machinery hit slow her down. Both my ships were sunk with only light damage of enemy ships.
Another example, my newest 55000 tons fast battleship with 10x16" guns attacked enemy convoy. She was intercepted by inferior 38000 tons battlecruiser. My ship was hit several times without making any hit to enemy. She was slightly slow down however still much better chance. But bad luck did not end and after some time her superstructure was severely damage, her speed dropped as unarmored ends were damaged and one lucky hit disabled her quadruple turret. It started to be dangerous so I plan quuck pass around the convoy hoping secondaries will sink some ships and disengage. However enemy inferior fast battleship appeared in horizon and even if she cannot jeopardize citadel I started running for life as damage of non-critical areas were do severe that decrease effectivity of operations o board. I luckily disengage being moderately damage. Enemy ships has almost no damage even if my ship was so superior that in long range duel she should be able to fight both ships with reasonable chance be victorious.

Yes, sometimes very bad luck! Sometimes things just don't work out the way you like. Just a reminder, the OP is part bug report and part after-action-report like most of dorn's post. I'm wondering if seeing two or three of these critical hits taking out two turrets in large battles are working-as-intended. Thanks.

That sounds like its WAD, as long as the % of such hits does not exceed single-digits over the long term...

That sounds like its WAD, as long as the % of such hits does not exceed single-digits over the long term... What do you mean by 'does not exceed single digits over the long term?' That means as long as less than about 10% of all hits cause damage to two turrets then it is likely WAD - if, over a large sample of hits (hundreds or thousands), the rate is significantly > 10% then it may be set a bit too high.

Oh okay. I think it happens way less than 5% of hits. I thought the frequency was high around 1%. I’ll keep an eye on it and report back. Thanks for the response!

Anecdotally (I haven't been keeping close records) I'd say the rate of double turret damage went up significantly in the last patch or two.

I don't mind their appearance, (frequency feels a tad high but not yet something that bothered me way to much), but would like an option to space our turret on all forward ships like the French ships did for a weight penalty to reduce chance of double knock out.
