I really love this game, but probably one of the most frustrating things about it is not being able to go back and look at the history of your play-through (aside from sunk ships) and recording the name of battles. I'm talking about information such as ship logs, battle results, ship history. Whole battle logs are one thing, but individual ship damage/hit logs are very interesting and informative. I'd love to be able to save them. Also I'd to keep track of the history of individual ships. My last Germany game I had a very interesting pair of BCs I wish I kept better record of, the Von der Tann-class. Both ships were built in 1909 and lasted until the hard cap of 1970. Well one did, the other struck a mine and sank in 1968. They went through multiple refits, reclassified as BBs due to their slow speed, and eventually ended up reclassified as CAs as heavy AAA cruisers.
Anyway. Is there any way to save or look up such information (aside from writing everything down yourself)? Or plans or discussions related to this? I tried looking through the forums for such discussions, but was unsuccessful.

A more comprehensive recording process has been suggested and discussed. Other issues have taken priority.
I often record the main battle log, saving it as an MS Word file to retain the formatting (such as it is).
You can do the same for ship's logs, including the enemy's ship logs. To do this, after a battle, when the "Scenario results" screen opens, use the "Ship details" button in the lower right corner of the screen to open the detailed record of ship's firing and damage. On this screen if you double-click on any ship, even enemy ships, it will open up the ship details screen for the ship. From there you can open that ship's log and record it.

It's a shame that the game produces all these logs, and then discards them silently.
Should be pretty easy to write them to file as "Type-Shipname-YearOfConstr-(NameOfBattle)-date.txt" or something. Even if we end up with 50 or 100MB of txt files ... who cares in the age of TB disks?

I have often felt that RTW2 (or even RTW3) should save the history of a game -- all the ships, wars, battles, etc -- as a series of web pages, in the style of Wikipedia. Better still have the main interface of the game web-based, which would come in useful if lots of human players were playing against each other in the same game, all designing ships based on what they other players were building, etc.
I may write down my thoughts on this and other ideas in more detail.
