Briefly describe , I have played with aircraft carriers many times , From early aircraft carriers to 1950+ modern aircraft carriers (with catapult)
After specifying a driving direction,
If the carrier is taking off and landing the aircraft (very very frequently on large carriers),
the carrier will automatically adjust the direction to get the wind ,
After a certain takeoff and landing plane is completed, the carrier's direction will remain in her last direction ,
Then completely different from the original driving direction ,
Multiple large aircraft carriers, forming a formation, will have this situation:
Two or three or four aircraft carriers , because of the continuous release and withdrawal of bombers and CAPs, constantly and randomly move randomly ,
Sometimes they are close to each other , sometimes away from each other , Then , overall there is no control , because they automatically adjust their heading every minute
In order to prevent the aircraft carrier from suicidely moving in front of the enemy battleship , I must have the aircraft carrier “stuck” in the land terrain at the beginning of the battle.
Hope for a improve , thank you!

A player toggle option to stop all air launches would help immensely. This would mean no longer launching replacement CAP planes. Planes airborne are still something to recover.
What this would do is let the player have a chance to steer the CV without any air ops for a while.
I've also suggested give us more ship squadron orders with a direction such as where we can select support or screen to choose "position north" "position south" etc which gives the player at least some chance to get AI controlled groups around land obstacles or out of bays

I just lost my newest carrier to this behavior. It's okay that they change direction to launch/recover aircraft if they would change back to the ordered course once aircraft is launced/recovered

I just lost my newest carrier to this behavior. It's okay that they change direction to launch/recover aircraft if they would change back to the ordered course once aircraft is launced/recovered Its plausible that after the recovery the CV wants to resume your course but sees an enemy nearby so might be evading. Im not sure but I've wondered about that. There are times I might even want to say "forget landing cheap planes! save the 3 years to build carrier!"
