Fleet Battle's start positions were so far apart that the mission ended after 180 elapsed time before either fleet's assets could make contact with each other in 1909. Whatever TIMER mechanism is involved in causing missions to END before opposing forces contact one another needs to STOP! It's ruining the game experience. I realize that start positions may be far away from each other due to scout planes and carriers. But in this picture below, the mission, in 1909, had neither. I also altered my ships default heading to go SSE, straight toward the enemy. I was spreading out to find them. Despite this effort, no contact was made with opposing forces and a message pops up and immediately ends the mission. I just don't like wasting my time on a mission that has a TIMER function that causes you to hurry into a mission or it will abruptly end. That totally takes the fun out of the mission. Just had another one of these type Fleet Battle missions that ended prematurely just as air assets were about to discover the enemy. It's entirely frustrating to have a mission end prematurely and spoil what would have otherwise had the potential to have been a fantastic game experience. This needs fixing and here's how to do it: When the 'No contact between opposing forces' message pops up and ends the mission, just change it to a popup with a choice of ending the mission or continuing. That way, some random game mechanic that is killing the mission prematurely doesnt spoil what could have been. Look at this pic below: The mission ended at 240 turns into an 800 turn Fleet Battle mission. I had initially maneuvered south at night so at dawn I'd be able to launch a recon op to see where everything was. That maneuver put a little distance between me and the enemy fleet, but caused the premature end mission game mechanic to rear its ugly head. All that timer does is kill the fun and punish strategic planning. GOTTA FIX THIS!!! Premature2.png (51.27 KB)
