Playing as Germany (allied with GB), in a war with Russia.
DD engagement.
About 20 German + British DDs vs. 4 Russian ones.
I use up almost all the ammo from all my DDs to sink two Russian DDs. The 2nd one takes the cake.
Unfortunately, I botched the second screenshot, but even in the first 2/3 of the log, that thing took
8 x 5" direct hits 1 x 2" direct hit 8 x 5" near misses
there were a few more hits again in the last 1/3 of the log and in the end, after launching some 20 torpedoes at the thing, one finally connected and did it in.
Now, I'm not complaining or anything, but can I please have the stuff that thing is made of for my battleships and cruisers? Pretty please?
P.s. Looks like there is something to the rumors in WoWs, that Russian ships are made of indestructible "Stalinium".

Quite interesting, but it seems that the most important is where you hit destroyer. In your case, there was no damaging hit in most important areas, even shell going to machinery did not explodes in.

Got another one, this time a French - and boy did it take a punishment before going down
14 x 4" hits 7 x 5" hits 3 x torpedo hits (the first torp hit some 45 minutes before it finally went down - talk about a tough little bugger)

... according to the ships' log, it took "only" 4x 4in 6x 5in 1x torp to sink it ... the "##" note hits on an already sinking ship. If you subtract those, number are not quite that impressive any more, espcially as DD Veglia was firing 5in AP the whole time, what would do very little compared to HE unless hitting a critical spot ... and the 1st torp hit was instantly fatal at 9:41

Yeah, all the AP being fired in both cases is going to make for relatively low damage per hit. Lots of over-penetration, not a lot of shrapnel holes.
