Thought I`d start a thread on Game Play of the new Game Beta Version with some quaetions.
The 1.07 AI even at "Captains level" plays a much more aggressive game as France /Italy VS a US or German player with many overseas locations, so the game has become more complex.
I am seeing more invasion land battles being generated, with the pop up note that my " weakness" in an area has resulted in a landing. I assume this means a weakness in ships there ? I tend to lose about 40-50% of these...which is significant IMO .....given the Fog of War in the details of the maps reports ( if it is FOW`ed ?? ) compared to the ship strenths in the almanic it`s a little hard to deal with this, since I want to keep the Fleet intact at home. I guess what I`m seeing in the map reports is many more AI ships then they have/had in the almanic pre war......
The AI also seems able to sustain over turns, a fairly large BB fleet where they have no bases, off my East Coast ( USA ) as example, for some time.
Is these any way to counter a land invasion currently ??
Does my Forts play any role in the AI deciding where to invade ? I have so far avoided building them due to the very high costs but if that does, or can in a update, play a role they become a worthwhile cost IMO.

Invasions are a new feature introduced in 1.1 as a response to player feedback that it was too easy to ignore overseas areas. Invasions are described in the updated manual.

Please help me out and point me to the part in the Beta manual that covers invasions ? FoW Sorry, my mistake, it was in the update notes:
* Possessions may be invaded during war if one side has a great force preponderance in the area (at least 4 to 1). (This is handled randomly as invasions are decided by the Army).
