would increase turret weight by 10-20% but also decrease the amount of jams and turret out of actions and so on during combat and also reduce the chance of a non penetrating hit jamming or temporarily knocking the turret out of combat basically rienforcing stuff like the hoists the motors driving the turret and so on reducing turret failures which result in a more reliable turret this is basically the exact opposite of what the british did with the nelsons where they lightened alot of the turret parts which resulted in incredibly unreliable turrets which constantly had guns and hoists jam in this case (with reliable turrets) we are adding more weight by reinforcing stuff like hoists turret rollers and turret equipment making it heavier but also much more reliable picture of how it would look in the hud

It should also reduce flash fires and simulate inbetween-guns bulkheads to prevent the turret from losing all three guns in a single pen.
Yamato's turrets were said to be overly built and 'heavy' but also had immense reliability and safety because of it.
