Currently in the game, AVs are limited to small floatplanes. Furthermore, they are more specifically seaplane carriers, devoting hangar and/or deck space to haul aircraft around. I don’t know about other countries, but US Navy AVs were generally seaplane *tenders* rather than seaplane carriers. These tenders served as a mobile base for PBYs and PBMs, allowing them to forward-deploy far from any land-based facility. They wouldn’t carry any planes; the planes would fly in, land, and tie up to the tender once they were down. If needed, the tender could hoist one out of the water for more extensive maintenance, but most couldn’t fit more than one at a time on deck.
Could we possibly get a seaplane tender/seaplane carrier option on the AV? The carrier would operate catapult floatplanes and cruise with the fleet. The tender would be a more strategic unit that will hole up in a sheltered bay somewhere and send out flying boats. The tender would get a larger aircraft capacity out of less tonnage since it doesn’t carry them.
Additionally, since floatplanes and flying boats were both historically used for sub hunting, how about giving AVs some ASW value?

We have thought about this sort of deployment/usage you mention above, so it is on the list of potential items that could be added to the game in an expansion or such.
Thanks for the suggestions!
