Hi everyone, I recently bought SAS from the store and was quite disappointed that the buttons Form Fleets Manually and Form Fleets Using 2IC are not displayed in the Map view. The latter is no big deal as you can ask the 2IC to form fleets from the Deploy menu as well but not being able to form fleets manually is very annoying. I'm not sure if this is a problem specific to my computer or screen resolution (see attachment), but I tried the minimum- and recommenden screen resolutions mentioned in the user guide (1024x768 and 1280x960 respectively) and the buttons never were visible. Anyway, encouraged by William Miller's post here I looked into the source code and identified the problem as the width of the map control panel on top of the map hiding those two particular buttons. If anyone else is having this problem I could share a fix for this problem, if this is allowed in the first place (it requires a change in the source code and then exchanging a file in the .jar file - not sure if this is allowed, I merely fixed it for myself under the assumption that this would be allowed after what William wrote in the post linked above). You may post the updated file here if you wish, I don't have a problem with that since it would help players of the game.

Alright, thanks William!
Attached to this post is a .zip archive containing the updated files, I would have preferred to upload the patched .jar file directly but the attachment file size limitation prevents this.
Instructions: Use at own risk. If you have no troubles with the buttons Form Fleets Manually and Form Fleets Using 2IC, there is no need to use those files.
Open the directory where Supremacy At Sea is installed 1. Make a copy of the file SASWW2.jar as a backup 2. Extract the folder "App" of the attached archive to a directory of your liking 3. Open the original file SASWW2.jar as an archive (e. g. I used 7-Zip - right click on the file, then 7-Zip -> Open 4. Drag and drop the "App" folder extracted in step 2. into the archive opened in 7-Zip in step 3.; you will be asked to confirm this action - answer with Yes 5. Close the 7-Zip window 6. You're done

Ok I just have to admit that the above is not really necessary at all if you installed all the patches available here which I of course did not do initially because I completely missed this section of the forum. I'll leave the above post as it is as a reminder of how to humiliate yourself on the internet.

Decades ago, when I first started working at a steel mill, I was told "There's nothin' you can do that ain't been done before... just try not to hurt anybody." No humiliation - just shrug and keep posting.
