Hi, AI generates invalid designs for legacy ships often, as well as their normal ships. Here you can see impossible design examples. It happens with all ship types. Easies to test, when you just start a ship and let the Ai generate legacy designs. Therefore Ai ships are up to 10% over the displacement than they actually should be.

That's not a bug, it's just the AI building bad ships. You can do the same: you're allowed to go over the tonnage you dialed in at the top (add long as you don't go too far over), but the ship will get penalties to flotation and such for being overweight (because the extra weight reduces the height between the waterline and the lowest point at which water can come over the side and into the ship).

That's not a bug, it's just the AI building bad ships. Apart from "just the AI building bad ships" might qualify as a bug, it's funny that the game itself tells you that the designs are illegal ... . I'll get you some screenshots when I have the time ... .

The second design is overweight but legal.
The first one is legal up to about 370 tons overweight, but at 489 it is not.

But simply being overweight is not a bug (as, up to a point, overweight designs are legal).

Illegal weight on german 1900 legacy DD design:
... the game wouldn't let you save/develop "seriously overweight" designs ...

About a third of my 1920 german start ships are illegal in incorrigible ways (1.24). For example having 3" of DE but only 2" of deck and 2" of BE. Since armor cannot be changed and illegal designs cannot be saved it is impossible to service or rebuild those ships.
P.S.: Legally overweight ships can become illegal if the "ship is overweight" event hits them once entering service.

Illegal gun choice on german 1900 legacy B design: <button disabled="" class="c-attachment-insert--linked o-btn--sm">Attachment Deleted</button>
available guns <button disabled="" class="c-attachment-insert--linked o-btn--sm">Attachment Deleted</button> Isn't the real error here that Germany doesn't have 10" guns? Historically they used 24cm/9.4" and 26cm/10.2" guns before they went back to 28cm/11.1".
P.S.: My new Germany Versailles game [v1.25] I started last week, basically all my larger starting ships are illegal. The CLs because they have more deck than belt armor, and the battleships because they are illegally overweight. This is especially serious because they are all "old" and would require rebuilding, but since they are illegal that is not possible.

[1.26] ... game is still doing those illegal designs ... But now it sets the guns to "quality 5" and then complains about "illegal gun quality", instead of "illegal choice" and "has not developed 10in guns". That is not an improvement ...
