When did you start the game - 1900 or 1920?
1900 and 1936 (1936 Mod), several games
What nation were you playing?
USA
Were there any start options that were not the default?
Size 120 and 100 airbases, player designed legacy fleet
Describe the issue in detail.
Aircraft re-equipping does not work as described in the manual (see below). Instead squadrons are always replaced in the order in which they were created. For example, if you have 30 fighter squadrons it will start replacing 1st generation aircraft with 2nd generation starting with the first squadron that was created, call that squadron 1001, and will continue to squadron 1030. However, if you only re-equip the first 15 squadrons before a new (3rd generation) fighter comes out the game goes back to reequipping with squadron 1001, leaving squadrons 1016-1030 with 1st generation (obsolete) models. rinse and repeat.
What the manual says:
"Designer’s note: By using the obsolete function you can exert some control over which of your plane
models will be used to populate your active squadrons. You can mark planes as obsolete to clear the
way for newer, more effective models. You can also use the function to keep older but more effective
models active by marking any newer but inferior models as obsolete when they enter production. In
this way you can keep active only those models that you find most useful."
THIS IS NOT WHAT IS HAPPENING and is, for me, the most frustrating part of RtW2. It doesn't make any difference whether you mark models as obsolete or not.
What were you doing when the bug occurred?
Playing the game.
What did you expect to happen and how was the result you saw different than you expected.
I expected new generation models to replace the oldest generation still in service first.
Can you describe how to reproduce the bug?
Play the game. Try marking some older models as obsolete and others as not obsolete. It will not make any difference.
What version of the game were you playing (v1.00, v1.01, etc)?
v1.22 and v1.22 with 1936 Mod.
Visuals are always useful. Please feel free to attach any images that help describe the issue. It might be useful to attach a saved game. The best way to do this is to zip up the entire save game directory (e.g. Game4) into a single zip file and attach it to your post.
F3F C = 3rd generation
F4F Wildcat = 4th generation
F4F B = 5th generation
F4F C = 6th generation.
May 1943
March 1944
There is another page+ of fighter squadrons, all most all of which are F3F C that never got reequipped while this first page got reequipped, and reequipped and reequipped.
