Hi,
Here are some suggestions that I think could improve the game
1. As there is a tick box to add additional deck armour there should be one to add additional belt armour, eg +2", this is historical as for example HMS repulse, some county class cruisers and other ships had additional belt armour added.
2. A tick box to increase the length of the ship, this should increase the beam to length ratio of the ship, allowing it to go slightly faster, a penalty for this could be addition flotation damage when hit in the belt extended and a penalty against evading air attack as the turning circle will be larger. Historically, Kongo was lengthened by 26ft. This could be an alternative to an expensive engine refit.
3. Ships equipped for colonial service could have a small bonus to the light AA factor, this is because as aircraft are developed every ship in the fleet will need to be refitted which can be a nuisance for a country like Britain which has a lot of ships on foreign stations which will be taken off foreign station and sent to the home territory when refitted. This could reflect the fact that ships equipped for colonial service have an increase contingent of marines who may be trained to shoot at aircraft with small arms fire.
4. Looking at my collection of 1/700 scale ships I notice they are a lot slimmer than the ship sprites in the game, especially the destroyers. I have (hopefully) attached an image of 1/700 scale A Kagero, E-Class and S-Class destroyer, side by side, open up the game and notice how the shape of the hull of the DD is completely different, it's a lot fatter, bulges out more and has a pointed stern when all destroyers of the period had a rounded stern. I know it isn't game-breaking and perhaps I am being a bit pedantic, but I care for aesthetics and I prefer to see a closer resemblance to how the ships actually were.
That's All,
Thanks.
