Is there anything I can do to increase the ability of my possessions to resist invasions?
Does "Improve Base" actually fortify the possession against enemy invasions? The only noticeable change once I improve a base over and over again is to have a huge base capacity, which allows me to place more ships in the sea zone. I am not sure if it does anything else?
I have heard that building shore batteries make it more difficult for the enemy to invade your possession, is that true? It also feels like any base with an airfield is also harder to invade. I might be wrong.
Playing as Great Britain, my Canadian possessions get invaded by the US repeatedly, and these possessions fall very easily when I face a strong enemy like the US...
I was wondering, if there is anything the player may do to help the possession/base resist invasions? I think anything that has a possession value of 12 and above is unable to be invaded. But what if I did not want to edit the value of my bases, is there a way, or a method, or a strategy which would allow me to fortify my possessions against invasions in the game?
Thanks

Shore batteries can hold up enemy ground offensives, buying you time to relieve them. But if you want to prevent invasions outright you're going to have to have forces in the area.
