SAI players had the opportunity to simulate all the most important naval battles of WW1 and, if necessary, to add more. SAI includes in fact a very useful scenario editor and also a less user-friendly but manageable campaign editor.
In theory it seems that all the necessary ingredients are available to extend these possibilities to WW2 as well. In fact, some enthusiasts have created the files of all the warships that fought in WW2. I have no doubt that many enthusiasts would be found willing to conduct the historical research necessary to recreate the situation as it appeared, for example, in the early stages of the Battle of Midway or other great naval battles of that era.
And most importantly, RTW2 contains within itself all the necessary s/w tools to simulate those battles. Perhaps the NWS team has already done so, at least in part, for the purpose of testing RTW2.
I presume that, on the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of WW2 also for the USA and Japan, many players, including myself, would like to be able to simulate the battles of that great naval war.
