ive been using (somewhat heavily gunned) AV's as dedicated Raiders (Rationale was the scouting capability both when hunting, and to leg it/angle to attack more quickly if intercepted), and i was a little curious if they're able to do strikes under AI/manual control (im still fairly basic in my understanding of how tactical combat works- i haven't been fiddling/experimenting with formation settings ect all that much, and put my fleet/ships under full AI control as often as not due to my history of overreaching and boning myself), assuming the FP model they're equipped with is capable of carrying bombs, of course?

They certainly are.
AI managed to almost kill an installation with a single bomb hit from a FP last game I played. Looks like they tried to replicate the Dad's Army Episode "Asleep In The Deep" considering how bad the water level got.
