Need a suggestion. Playing Russo-Japanese War Campaign. 2nd turn. One of the objectives is to reach the spot near Gensan with 2 AC and return to Vladivostok. Of course some hunting on the way is desirable. But what do you think is the priority in the following situation? It is 2/24/1904, 11:16. 1st Cruiser Division consisting of two аrmored сruisers Rossiya and Gromoboy was heading towards their objective near Gensan and almost reached it, when they spotted Japanese armored merchant cruiser, which started to evade. What decision (in your opinion) 1st rank captain of Rossiya A.P. Andreyev would make, proceed to the objective first and only after that start their hunting or change their course immediately and chase the AMC? (Scenario time elapsed: 916 (5160)). /.../ Unfortunately I did not have any patience to wait for suggestions You can find out what captain Andreyev decided to do in the next post about the 2nd turn...

2nd turn: docs.google.com/document/d/12UBk1xpI342RHnBxdS6rOseLwYjY0XAFY_YBRZ47HPk/edit?usp=sharingIn this turn two operations will be covered from 2/23/1904 to 2/26/1904, in one of each MS Amur was laying mins in the middle of the night blocking the entrance in Japanese Chemulpo harbor. MS Amur was a legendary ship by the way. Did you know that she sunk two biggest Japanese ships in the entire Russo-Japanese war? This is how it happened. 2nd rank captain F. N. Ivanov (the future Admiral), after several days of observing the passage of the Japanese Navy ships blocking Port Arthur, proposed to put a minefield in their path, but did not receive permission for this, since the place of the proposed staging was in neutral waters. 5/14/1904, despite the ban, he put mines where he offered. The following is from Wikipedia: "On the morning of 15 May 1904, Rear Admiral Nashiba Tokioki led a squadron consisting of the pre-dreadnoughts Hatsuse, Yashima and Shikishima to bombard Port Arthur. They encountered a field of 50 mines laid by Amur the evening before. Hatsuse hit one mine that disabled her engines and steering and drifted into another mine that caused one of her forward magazines to detonate. The ship sank in about 90 seconds, taking 496 men down with her. Yashima struck another mine as she maneuvered around the drifting Hatsuse, but she was towed away from the minefield. By the late afternoon Yashima's flooding had become unstoppable and she was abandoned by her crew. Three hours later the ship capsized and sank."2nd rank captain F. N. Ivanov

I noticed you haven't updated in four months , but I wanted to say I appreciated the effort.
Pre - Dreadnoughts are my favorite ! The Russian Navy is my favorite ! ( I also like the Spanish , and Hapsburg Navies of the period )
I loved the pictures !
Something I have just learned over the past two days is that , while I was never interested in AAR's before , I find the AARs for this particular game and subject fascinating !
I just purchased the game YESTERDAY , so if you ever come back to this DAR , I'm probably not the best person to ask , " What should I do ? "
Indeed , if past experience is any guide , even after I know the game and the game manual by heart , I'll probably STILL make a really lousy Admiral !
