I wanted bring up one more issue about tech advances. Systems like the airplane generally require many technological advancements to be fully developed. Example is the aircraft. We know the first flight of an aircraft was the October 4th, 1905. Well that may be but there were other advances before that. Here is a reasonable article documenting those preliminary advances that make the 1905 flight possible. www.britannica.com/technology/history-of-flight/The-generation-and-application-of-power-the-problem-of-propulsionNow radar has the same history. We start with Heinrich Hertz in the late 19th century who showed that radio waves were reflected by metallic objects. But James Clerk Maxwell suggested this in his seminal work of 1865. It grows from there. Think about many technological advances in naval warfare and then research the progression of advances in technology that made the system advances possible, they are numerous. Hull design, engines and fuel, turrets and guns. The list goes on and on. So, this is the complex level that a game probably cannot duplicate and should not, but it is important.

Another thing that came to my mind is the changes to to starting map possessions. There should be a lot of changes to who owns what territory if we did a 1955 start date. USSR should also be buffed a little for 1955, maybe be given a rapid economic growth that is slightly less than that of the US but more than others? After all, the USSR did spent a large portion of their economic capacity on military spending comparing to others.
