I'm trying to get back into RTW1 and have run into what left me putting it on the back burner for so long: the editor.
I want to do a game as Britain and some other custom nations, but mainly, I want to redo the battles. The problem for me is I can't wrap my head around a good amount of what's needed. I know the editor comes with very basic documentation, but it leaves so much out. For instance, I want to make one of the fleet battles with the Byzantines be in the Aegean, but I don't know if what I'm editing is the right area. I see with the list of 10 possible missions that all 10 in relation to the Byzantines are "Defender 0 = Great Britain" while every other nation has half split between the two as attacker and defender. I have no idea how to change things so their battles are like everyone elses and this is just one issue of many.
I can't find any videos on youtube about editing the game or anything. Is RTW2s editor the same? I assume so.
Anyone able to help?
